The brain drain of summer is coming to an end. Soon, the kids will be back in school, flexing their young minds to begin learning again.

How about giving your children a head start on the school year by getting them back into the reading habit with a free publication called Kidsville News!, the nation’s fastest growing children’s newspaper.

In September, Kidsville News! will begin a 12-part serial story, “Quetzalcoatl,” about a boy, buried treasure and strange flying creature.

Kidsville News is also partnering with author James Patterson‘s www.ReadKiddoRead.com to provide monthly book reviews and recommendations for parents, teachers and children. Designed to make finding appropriate reading materials for all kids, the site includes age designations, book descriptions, celebrity interviews such as Rick Riordan and Julie Andrews.

“ReadKiddoRead is about getting the very best books into kids’ hands, the ones that will create life-long readers. Kidsville News! understands how important this is – they have a solid, entertaining paper that gets kids and parents reading together. What a great place to showcase a taste of what’s going on at ReadKiddoRead,” says Patterson.

“We are extremely proud of this new relationship, because it’s evidence that we are achieving our mission of promoting literacy, education and good character development in our young people. Both organizations have a mission of promoting reading as a valuable skill that is fun, educational and a rewarding lifelong hobby,” says Bill Bowman, president of Kidsville News! Inc.

A love of books and a love of reading opens up so many doors for kids. Get them back in the swing with these free resources now. Please check out www.kidsvillenews.com.
